Why life and grief Coach?

The first reaction of people when I say I am a life and grief coach is often, “OMG, that is heavy stuff… why choose this path when you could be a career or business coach instead?” And the answer is, yes, I know it’s heavy, but there are people out there who need it, and I have the tools within me to help them on this journey. So the answer is, if I can do it, why NOT?

Why life and grief together? Grief coaching on its own is for people who have lost a loved one. In many cultures, when you lose someone you grieve because you lost someone, you lost a part of yourself, you lost a part of your life. After the buzzing of the first days/weeks spent planning a funeral and doing some paperwork, people stop asking you how you feel. People sometimes do not know how to react when you are still grieving while they have moved on and closed that door. That is why I am here. That is where I can help. Help by listening and help by guiding you towards the path out of the mist.

But grief is not just about losing someone; grief can be about losing something or having to let go of a part of your life. I focus on those major events in life that shift your focus, those earthquakes in people’s lives that are so strong they destabilize you. In a way, I focus on those events that bring any sort of grieving into your life.

Of course, if an event occurs in your life that enables you to release your past without any regrets or worries, then you somehow have nothing to grieve, maintaining your balance. However, when an event strikes that takes your breath away and you’re not prepared to release, you will grieve for what appears to be lost. This is what I help with. This is where I can make a difference.

Whether you lost a precious one, a dear piece of yourself, or of your life, I am here to help you out of the fog.
